His proprietary ground curriculum bridges the gap between instructional theory and real-world application, giving graduates the knowledge, judgment, and teaching tools they need to excel as professional flight instructors.
Far more than a traditional test-prep course, The Compleat CFI™ explores the Fundamentals of Instructing in a way that prepares new CFIs to become effective educators—not simply pass a test. Through scenario-based instruction, real-world examples, and active class participation, students learn how to communicate effectively, motivate learners, manage risk, assess performance, and apply sound instructional principles in the training environment.
The course also takes an intensive, practical approach to pilot certification regulations. Through a wide range of realistic certification and training scenarios, students develop an in-depth understanding of 14 CFR Part 61, including how to interpret and apply certification requirements, instructor responsibilities, and endorsements in real-world situations.
Cary began flying at age 15, soloed on his 16th birthday, and earned his Private Pilot Certificate at 17. The following year, he earned his Commercial Pilot and Flight Instructor certificates, beginning a career devoted to aviation education. Since then, he has owned and operated three 14 CFR Part 141 FAA-approved flight schools and developed aviation training curricula for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Jeppesen, CAE, and others.
Having personally trained more than 2,500 initial CFI applicants, Cary brings a depth of experience to CFI education that is unrivaled in the industry. His focus is simple: to develop knowledgeable, confident, professional flight instructors who are prepared to educate, mentor, and inspire the next generation of aviators.
